Vinegarette oniano oh ji sirke wali pyaj !!!!

Every time you place your order in an Indian style restaurant, the first things no no...the second thing of course after water the waiter will bring this onion that's light pink in color and has tempting fragrance. I always loved it on my platter till i finish the food so thought why not have it at home also when i take my daily meal and of course it is great taste add on. Till the time our order arrives we are almost tasting and enjoying these onions unknowingly. isnt't it???

Ingredients:
  1. 10-20 pearl onions [small sized], peeled and washed.
Just find small edible onions that's pretty in size.
  1. 1  cup water
  2. 1/2 cup or lil more light vinegar
  3. salt to taste
  4. a small pinch or sugar

Method:
Slice off the ends of each onion. Peel them completely. Place peeled onions in a glass or plastic jar. (don't take metal jar as vinegar will react with metal and give metallic taste that will spoil the original taste of these onions)

Add salt and sugar to water and mix water with vinegar.
Pour this mixture over the onions in the jar/bowl.
The onions should be completely covered.
The longer they are soaked they will gain deeper color. so if you have party tonite make sure to dip them in afternoon.
Let them marinate for a few hours (3 hours to 5 hours).

The onions may be kept in the refrigerator for 2 days after they have been drained.
Here they are ready to serve with any dish but tastes good with mughlai dishes a lot.
